Maquoketa High School

At the Maquoketa High School, our mission is to equip students to be life-long learners and caring, productive citizens.

Welcome to Maquoketa, a community of approximately 6000 people, located 30 miles south of Dubuque, IA, 35 miles north of the Quad Cites (Davenport, IA, Bettendorf, IA, Moline, IL, and East Moline, IL), 50 miles east of Cedar Rapids, IA, and only three and a half hours west of Chicago! We are right in the middle of it all! Maquoketa High School is a four year high school with a current enrollment of approximately 620 students. Our high school has recently had two major construction projects completed. Phase I was completed spring of 2005 where we added 8 new classrooms including two new science classrooms and labs along with two modern art classrooms including a dark room. Phase II of the school improvements was completed in the fall of 2008, where a new entrance was added, in addition to new administrative offices and commons area. This phase of improvements also included a new state of the art “pit style” competition gymnasium with a seating capacity exceeding 1650, a new state of the art weight room, new wrestling room, training room, and locker room facilities. Our faculty consists of 50 instructional staff members and two administrative personnel!

Jackson County Transition Fair, Maquoketa, IA Tuesday, April 8, 2014 (6:00 pm – 7:30 pm)

West Gym, Maquoketa High School

  • Grades 8 – 12 from any Jackson County School
  • Intended audience: Students with IEPs or 504 plans, their families and educators
  • Meet over 20 organizations to help with transition to adult life
  • Supper and dessert will be provided at no cost and will be served promptly at 6:00
  • Reservations are strongly encouraged

 

*Child Care will be provided at no cost (6:00PM-7:30PM)

 

The Transition Fair will address the areas of:

· Lifelong supports and funding for working and/or living

· Employment and training supports

· College supports

· Transportation and Leisure Supports
